The European Federation of Explosives Engineers held its 11th World Conference on Explosives and Blasting at MECC Maastricht from 15 to 17 May, the first since the pandemic after the 2021 edition was postponed. More than 400 delegates from 45 countries came, with a workshop day on the Sunday and the exhibition running alongside the technical sessions on the Monday and Tuesday.
ShotTrack exhibited, one of more than thirty exhibitors in the hall. The EFEE conference is where European blasting practice gets discussed in detail, and the stand was busy with it: velocity of detonation, vibration near neighbours, and what a measurement has to show before a regulator accepts it.
